Timothy Peters
Junior Vice Commander-in-Chief - Air Force

Timothy C. Peters was elected Junior Vice Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. on Aug. 1, 2024, at the 125th VFW National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
 
Tim served in the United States Air Force from 1981-2001, earning his VFW eligibility serving in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In recognition of his service, he received the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait and the Kuwait Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait.
 
 
 
He joined the VFW in 1996 at Post 805 in O’Fallon, Illinois, later transferring to Post 10010 in East Helena, Montana, where he maintains his Gold Legacy Life membership. He has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District and Department levels, culminating with his election as the VFW Department of Montana Commander from 2010 to 2011, in which he achieved All-American status. Tim has served as the Department of Montana Adjutant/Quartermaster since 2011, and earned the distinction of All-American Department Quartermaster in 2022. On the national level, he served as National Aide-de-Camp, and has served on the Finance, Internal Organization Committee, the Bylaws, Manual of Procedure and Ritual Committee, the Legislative Committee, the General Resolutions Committee, and on the National Council of Administration.
 
Tim received his associate of applied science degree. He is retired.
 
He is a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and the AMVETS.
 
Tim and his wife, Barbara, reside in Helena, Montana.
